My System Specs

Default Ooh, cheap reliable psu?

I've got a ocz z series 550watt, so far it runs everything fine, cables a bit short but the really funny thing is, -12v is around -6.34v from hwmonitor, the +12 v stays rock solid @ 12.48 load or no load. Is the -12v lead to anything bad if it's not at -12v? Also It's VERY quiet and a deal if you got from ncix boxing day (30dollars mir)

I ran an OCZ StealthXStream 500W for over a year in my primary rig at the time and I loved it. I've since moved it to my HTPC and it's still awesome. Runs almost dead silent, and has never given me an issue.

Just ignore the numbers you get from HWMonitor. They're wrong, so you don't have to worry about them reporting voltages that aren't in the right range. If you really want to test the PSU voltages, use a digital multimeter according to this guide: http://www.bfgtech.com/bfgpower/troubleshooting.html

Anyway, that's a decent enough budget PSU if you get it for a cheap price. Wouldn't be my preference, but it does the job, and as long as you're happy, it's all good.

Quick! Call the Police! Someone has captured Zero82z and is impersonating him on-line.
He just commented on a budget OCZ p/s without cursing

Sorry buddy but cheap and reliable these words don't usually go together. You get what you pay for.

I would spend the extra $10-$20 and get something more reliable.

I bought a little 350w Silverstone a few weeks ago and I am very surprised. It's silent and the built quality seems great. I hope it hold up the test of time
