750W+ Modular PSU

Heu HWC:

I was recently (actually it was last night) looking for a new case to house my radiaotrs better than my Antec 1200, but decided to stay with my 1200 a little longer. The main reason I was looking for a new case was to help make my inside look better. I do know that the stock 1200 has some good cable management, however, a non-modular PC P&C PSU really messes things up.

So I found myself looking at modular PSU, as I talked to my old-man on borrowing some power tools, as I plan on cutting holes all over this case! Aiming for that nearely invisible wire look! I was looking at that Corsair Professional 850W modular one, but I am just looking for some other choices.

What do you guys think?

I highly recommend the Seasonic X750 if you really want a new PSU.

Or you could mod your existing PSU to make the cables modular. I've done that in the past -- you basically cut your unused cables shorter and crimp on some pins, then sleeve everything up nice and heatshrink the ends. Not as neat as having the cables unplug right from the PSU itself, but if you take your time and practice so you get good at crimping you can do a good job.

An easier alternative would be to just bundle up your cables out of sight, e.g. run them to the back behind the motherboard tray and zip-tie them to screw holes or stick-on cable mounts.

I have had great luck with my Antec TP-750. It's a great PSU that is an incredible work horse!

Corsair HX750W
XFX 750W Black Edition
Thermaltake Toughpower 750W
Ultra X4 850W

My thoughts at least,

There is also the Silverstone strider 850. You have plenty of choice in the market just stick with good brand and a model that will fit your budget and your look.

Corsair HX850 or 750 depending on the current price. Too bad around the holidays a good bunch of that quality were on sale.
