this is probably a 300watt branded for 850:) with a special mention from the manufacturer that the responsibility is not to them if the power supply can't meet the consumer power request XD. A PSU is one of the part you don't save money for because it handle all your component life.

Ask for more.

While the Corsair is certainly leaps and bounds above 'el cheapo'; is ebay really your best option to buy it? That seems like a hefty price to pay (works out to like $170 American?) for it, plus ebay is for the birds. Their must be a local shop selling decent PSU's for comparable prices. And it's always nice to have a place to return it if it ever has issues. (Not to mention no shipping)

Just looking at the description for the cheapo PSU... why have an 800W PSU with four +12V rails, but only provide ONE PCI-E connector?
It also doesn't list the 4 pin P4 or 8 pin EPS12V connector so have fun plugging it into the slot beside your CPU

If you try to branch all that off molex to PCI-E adaptors you'll burn something (either the molex, the bad soldering, or the PSU). At least they lied enough about the amperage of each "rail" so it adds up to more than 800W...

EDIT: explicitly referred to the cheap PSU
