Default Comment Thread for Enermax Revolution 1050W Review

Power supply reviews are back at HWC! We start things off with a bang by looking at one of Enermax's flagship units: the Revolution 85+ 1050W. The features this power supply comes with reads like a laundry list of exactly what enthusiasts are looking for in a high end unit and because of this our expectations are high. Can this near-$300 product make good on its claims?

I love the PSU and I am quite happy you give this a thumbs-up.

It is a little strange that some of the soldering is not as good as it should be for a $300 PSU. This was a concern I saw noted over the web a little while back when I went out and got this, and it looks like Enermax has not changed this since.

Great review and keep em coming!

Nice job SKY, glad to have the PSU reviews back! And with all those pictures, graphs and succinct scientific conclusions, I doubt even the pickiest of your readers would find your review too wordy or opinionated. ;)

Sweet unit indeed, watch out Corsair!

I've been looking really hard at this thing for awhile now, may just break down and get it at some point. Nicely done review!

Any chance you were able to verify Enermax's claimed fan rpm speeds? Their one graph claims the 1050W unit holds 750rpm up to 50% power, I'm wondering if that holds out in practice. For those of us who are still finding their PSU to be the loudest component in their rig, these newer silver and gold PSU's have some serious potential.

Thanks SKY. Good ol' times are back. Excellent review.
Now I sit back and wait others reviews coming (maybe someday new BFG EX with additional filtering?)

Thanks. The next few are Corsair units and after that, there isn't all that much lined up.

I'm not getting pics of the modular portion on page 7, all I get is the line conditioner twice.

OK fixed.

Try it again. There seems to have been a mix up in the code.
