3 X 285's

What psu from NCIX.com could run this: My future rig acutally
1 core i7 920
12gb of dominator ram
4 HDD's
1 SSD
tri sli gtx 285
7 case fans
1 DVD writer
1 Blue ray Writier
Keyboard and mouse

Would the corsair 1000HX 1000Watt psu be good enough?
or Enermax REVOLUTION85+ 1050Watt?
or Antec Truepower Quattro 1000W
or a 1200W psu?

Looks like NVidia recommends a 1200W PS for tri-SLI 285s. You may be able to run it less, but they only have 2 PSUs on their own list... which I would take with a grain of salt.

Build an SLI PC - Certified SLI-Ready Power Supplies

1000W would make me edgy. The 285's can pull just shy of 200W a piece, before overclocking, and an overclocked i7 can see north of 200W without too much trouble. While the odds of maxing both out simultaneously are slim, that only leaves around 200-250W for everything else, which can disappear pretty quickly. You can find plenty of testimonials from people running that kind of stuff on a 1KW without any trouble, but personally, (were I inclined to build a rig like that for myself), I'd definitely be looking at something stronger than a 1KW PSU.

The Corsair should be ok with that rig.

These are 2 that I would go with:
PC Power & Cooling Turbo Cool 1200 ATX 1200W EPS12V 90A 24PIN Quad SLI Ready Power Supply - DirectCanada
Silverstone Zeus ZM1200 1200W ATX12V 24PIN Power Supply 95A 12V 80MM Fan Active PFC - DirectCanada

I too would be a little reluctant with a HX 1kW...although I would definitely give it a try!

This, I highly recommend the Silverstone Zeus, Impervio built PSU's ftw!

Note to everyone, the enermax 1050W beats the corsair HX1000.

Its more powerful(87A vs 80A), more efficient(certified silver), more powerful again(1050w vs 1000w)(a peak of 1250 even), better rating(Oklahoma Wolf@jonnyguru) and its the same price($280).

I wish people would stop recommending the corsair(it gets beat in every major category by the revolution 85+). No offense ZLOJACK.

The Corsair is still a very good PSU.

Yes, it does get beat by the Enermax, you're right, but it's still easily recommendable :thumb:

The Enermax is a great choice, no question!
