My System Specs

Default PSU recommendation?

Alright folks, I've now come to the point where I want a modular PSU for my system (see sig).

I'm currently running a PCP&C 750w, which has been great, except for trying to hide all those extra connections.

So, NCIX has the HX620 on sale for cheapish, but I think I want a little more headroom in case I go SLI or get a beefier GPU. (Who am I kidding, it will happen eventually) So I'm looking for suggestions for a modular PSU in the 750-850w range. (I can't afford the 1000 watt models, unless they can be had in the $225ish range).

NCIX.com - Buy Silverstone Strider ST85F 850W SLI Ready ATX12V 24PIN Modular Power Supply Active PFC 8PIN PCI-E - ST85F In Canada.

NCIX.com - Buy Antec Truepower Quattro 850W Power Supply ATX V2.2 EPS12V 20/24PIN Active PFC 80PLUS Dual 8PIN PCI-E - TPQ-850 In Canada.

There aren't that many modular PSUs in that price / power range...

I've noticed. I wish Corsair did a 750/850 modular.

I'm liking the Silverstone out of those suggestions. 2 rails at 35A each vs. 4 @ 18A on the antec, so no worries about cards running out of amps as they are OC'ed. And DC has it for 204 bucks, no rebate bs either.

Anyone else got a suggestion?

@ CTA, thanks for the list. Lots of options there, some I'd never heard of.

@ Chilly, that Silverstone is at the top of the list now. It'll go well with the TJ-07 when I finally break down and buy it.

Just ordered the Silverstone. I hope I like it.

Now to decide what to do with the Silencer.
