My System Specs

Default Need some opinions on CF

Hey guys, I'm going to be crossfiring 2x4870 512mb cards. Right now my PSU is the Enermax Pro82+ 625W.
I'm predicting it will be plenty once I back off the Q6600 to a more reasonable power consumption other than nearing 190W.
What do you guys think? Is it enough juice?

I think that's pushing it.

I'd personally would want 750W+

I agree with JD although according to the power calculators, you'd be ok- since you have the psu already, maybe give it a try.

750w pumped my old HD3870 CF with a max pull on my UPS of around 440w. So yeah you are very very close to the line, I would look at 850w really, my new OCZ 1000w is veyr nice and its price was reasonable but its not modular, but I have a bottom mounted PSU so the bundle is neatky sitting on the bottom of the case with a twist tie. Corsiar TX750/850w line is very reasonable and a ton o peeps here run the TX series. The OCZ EliteXstream also has stellar reviews here and on HardOCP, in fact soem of the most stable rails they had ever tested. I wa slookin at the corsair HX1000w but it has issues with the 8+2 phase power on my new board, forums are full of people who can't post their system, or it will not get past OS login. Also OCZ is single rail, so no "ghost amps".

I'm not so hung up on certifications.
Accoring to SKYMTL's reviews. Between CF4870 and 4870 alone, there is a difference of 136W between load power consumptions. Therefore I assumed that the load power is around there. 2x136 = 272, + ~130W for my CPU = 402 W. Plus a bunch of 4xHDD which I count as 10W each, and a bunch of yate loons. I'll add 3.6W for each yate loon and those HDDs for a total of 61.6W. Overall my system takes approx 463.6 W, which I think is correct.
