Yours are the only power supply reviews I bother reading because honestly power supplies aren't normally very interesting to me, haha.

Has Silverstone always stuck with single rail PSUs or does this perhaps suggest that the manufacturers have heard our cries for a single strong 12v rail?

Silverstone has the best of both worlds. Their Olympias are great single rail PSUs but if you want a multi-rail unit, you could go with the Zeus. The same goes for modular PSUs; for single rail they have the Decathlon and for multi rail they have the Striders.

Personally, I think they have the market pretty much covered with something for everyone.

and for what type iof rig you recommend a single rail over multi rails PSU???

single for intels and multi for AMD??

It is not a matter of recommending one or another but rather the application.

If it was an overclocked Quad Core I would recommend a single rail

If it was an overclocked AMD QuadFX system, I would recommend a single rail 1KW (or more) unit and new wiring for your house.
