Default Delta vs. Seasonic

Alright so I have everything ready for my folding/NAS rig...but the case I decided to cheap out on won't do that again) after failing at modding an old case I went to my local computer store...

I bought a case for 39$

It came with a Delta 500w (550w max) PSU...it doesn't have a PCIE connector and only 1 SATA power adapter

My question is should I get some adapters and use it in the folding rig or should I stick with the 400w seasonic OEM PSU I bought for the rig?

The system is

Abit IP-35E
E2160
8800GS
1GB crucial rendition
1 HDD
1 80mm fan
1 120mm fan

I plan to overlcock the CPU for folding but only as far as my Q6600 HSF can take me, not sure about OC'in the videocard just yet.

Thanks in Advance

Now...if it is a REAL Delta PSU then you have an EXCELLENT PSU. However...if it is a knock off, i would be concerned. Welcome to Delta Group

If its there, then its probably good to go.

I can't find it...I'm going with the seasonic hehe

also I've heard that you can generally judge a PSU by it's weight...if that's true either the seasonic is king or the delta is crap.... lol the seasonic is at least twice the weight of the delta if not more

Ok, then it is a fake Delta. The REAL delta's are amazing. I think the earlier Seasonics were BUILT by Delta.

Heh... if your 500W PSU that came with a $39 case weighs 1/2 of your 400W seasonic then yeah, paint it bright pink so that it doesn't end up in a case, and set it aside to use for priming/leaktesting your watercooling loops. :)

got any watercooling loops that I could um....leak test lol

and I'm now regretting not taking some pics of the case while building in it....would have been nice to review because other then the super dooper sharp edges on the back of the mobo tray it was an absolute joy to work with and well exceeded my expectations

and for the price of 27$ without the PSU it would have been even better!
