Difference Between Two Quad Silencer 750's

I decided, between two different 750W Corsair PSU's and the PC Power & Cooling Quad Silencer 750W, to go with the latter. The trouble is that when I searched it on NCIX, I got two different results, this version, and another Crossfire version, which I think is the same thing, only it's red.

Does anyone here have the CF version? Is it the same as the black SLI one? Any differences? The reason being is that the CF one is ~$35 cheaper, and I'd rather save money if it's the exact same thing...

Exactly the same.. more money for red.

The red one is certified ATI Crossfire where the black one is Nvidia SLI certified.

But both are exactly the same.

Their not EXACTLY the same, I mean they are different paint jobs . That being said, yes internally/spec wise they're the exact same.

There's a blue model floating around too. If you're not picky about colour, you might catch it at yet another price, maybe even cheaper?

I suspect they're different. Over at PC Perspective they reviewed both and got different results for each.

I have the CF version personally and it works wonderfully, but I don't have any of the others to do a comparison of my own.

Weird. I wonder if they changed some of the guts, because even the fan ramp profiles seem to be different between those two models. And of the reviews that the power supply has gotten, half of them consider the power supply to be pretty decent for noise, while others swear you can't hear it until full load. Considering they're owned by OCZ, I wonder if some changes trickled down from top management?

Funny, so the CF one, (which in the review was a sprayed-over SLI one) isn't as silent as the SLI one??? I hear everywhere else theyre both the same...

I'm confused, but I'm not to worried about noise, even if it is a little bit noisy. So long as it doesn't sound like a shop-vac, I'll take it :p

Indeed, perhaps some changes trickled down from management as MpG said, but I doubt that they're really significant. Thank you everyone!

I have the black one (SLI version) running my 4870s in crossfire with an E8500 at 4.0Ghz. This power supply is great and is silent.

I have the SLI one and its quiet, but I bought it a year ago when they were a little more expensive and OCZ hadn't had as much time to tinker with them.

Perhaps there is a reason they got so much cheaper? Anyway they seem to be great psu's.
