Default Razer Lycosa vs Saitek Eclipse II (2)

Hey all,

I was wondering if any of you know what the key response time is for the Saitek Eclipse II (2), in comparison with the Razer Lycosa.

I am currently trying to decide between the two keyboards, and I am having a tough time. Here are a couple questions I have.

1. Does the Saitek keyboard have as fast response as the Razer?
2. Can you press more than three keys at the same time on the Saitek?
3. Do any of you have either of these keyboards, and if so, could you explain in your opinion their pros and cons.

Take care

Kass

I have the Lycosa. It's a fine keyboard with a standard layout. Nothing really special though.

The keys are only really visible if your looking directly down, otherwise it's a bit blurry. So if you don't know where the keys are this may be a problem...

I like the rubber feel though and it matches my DeathAdder perfectly. The key travel is a bit short, sort of like a laptop.

They fixed a bit of the lighting issue in the newer revisions of the Lycosa.

The key response time is definitely the best out there. However anti-ghosting is only enabled on the "gaming cluster" (AKA WASD, shift, ctrl, space and a few more keys)

I would definitely use my lycosa over a Saitek Eclipse.

Razer Lycosa Gaming Cluster keys

That should explain quite well
I still have 1 Lycosa lying around in my home, keeping it for my own sakes. It's the original!

Good to know. I definitely have the original though since I got one right when NCIX got stock which was around Christmas time. The drivers weren't even listed on Razer's website when I got it.

I don't have any problem reading the keys even in a fully lit room. And the angle doesn't seem to mess up being able to see the keys for me... And I got mine at Christmas to so I am pretty sure its an original. I also have a Deathadder like Jdrom17 and it compliments my Lycosa very nicely. To ask Jdrom a question if I can borrow your thread for a moment. Have you had any issues upgrading the fimware of your DA? I am stuck at version 1.10 and whenever I try to run the updater it freezes up the DA to point where I have to reboot my PC to get it to work again. And e-mail from razer support told me to try the firmware on another machine... oh yes thats really easy for a person with one computer to do... I could try and use my shatty Telus-free Laptop but that could take hours.... and thats just to start it up.

Well I update my DA firmware on my laptop with XP since my desktop is only Vista x64 and it isn't supported by the updater. It works fine on my laptop though...

Don't even bother with Razer support. It's horrible IMO. I swear they stick to a very strict script. Every reply is basically the same.
