To me its still a usb connection, and at 2.4 GHz the response should be near
instantaneous, that’s certainly faster than the usb.
Mouse to 2.4 GHz adaptor to 450Mhz usb,
maybe I just don't have micro-second reflexes, or suck bad enough not to notice.
Have you ever used a different wired mouse for gaming? I have a Revolution and a G5 that I use. Gaming between them is night and day, and the G5 is a pretty lousy mouse.

I do have wired and cordless mice, and wired and cordless gamepads.
I just don’t see any difference in response time between any of them.

The only thing I can figure is that some people have an interference problem at
the frequency their cordless mouse operates at, or a driver problem.
Otherwise it doesn’t make sense, given the speed these things communicate at.

You may be right about an interference problem. If the wireless keyboard/mouse runs at 2.4 Ghz, that's the same frequency as wireless network adapters and older cordless phones. Thats why I bought new DECT phones, I had interference problems with my wireless-G setup.

I did try a wireless MS setup about a year and a half ago and kept getting my ass handed to me playing BF2142 as there was a definite input lag, so I went back to a corded desktop for gaming.

I've used two different Revolution's in 4 different homes. And currently I live in a home without a single telephone, microwave, or WiFi. The input lag was always the same, it isn't huge but easily noticeable.

Wow, do you pedal a stationary bike to get your power? Just kidding.

Yes, I noticed the input lag right away. It was acceptable for single player stuff, but in online twitch-fests I need all the help I can get. Apparently my reflexes are getting slower as I approach 40, as my son frequently reminds me.

I'm using the same mouse I have for years, my razer Viper. My recent move to Vista64 gave me some problems until I uninstalled the razer software and just went with Vista's standard mouse driver. Works great, but of course the Viper is just a three button and wheel mouse. Which, with keyboard, is all I ever need in my FPS games.

I am also using a G7 with no lag noticed? I always thought it was just my slow reaction time... Just kidding, I think it's a good mouse, would recomend it.

mine's a razor copperhead, totally accurate , zero problems after 1 year of using,no regrets for having bought it,huge improvement over mx510 (ok mouse, just broke)I had before though Logitech makes great gaming mice.Using it on a Func Industries 1030 archtype pad ,you have to get one of these, precision surface is amazing way better than a plain old pad you'll wonder why you ever gamed with out it , its only 20 bucks

if your running a resolution of 1680x1050 or higher your going to want something with 1600 DPI and above.

one thing is for sure you or anybody else do not need 4000 DPI so you can take the Razer Lachesis off your list.

the OCZ Equalizer is inexpensive and is a rebrand of A4 Tech X-750F Series it's about $0.32 cents cheaper than the Equalizer and comes in Black instead of Blue it also uses the same Laser Engine as the Razer Copperhead but it only has a 125Hz Polling Rate which is default Windows.

the Cyber Snipa Stinger is very unde it's like an improved Logitech G5. it has a 3200 DPI Sensor, better Weight System, Extra Set of Feet, 2 More Buttons, Long Cable, Gold Platted USB, Rubber Texture Grip similar to Razer, 8KB onboard Memory.

there are 2 more alternatives for 3200 DPI Sensors the Logitech G9 and SteelSeries Ikari there is a rumblings they use the same Sensor so if thats the case it would come down to build quality and ergonomics and SteelSeries wins that.

i respect your opinion , but as a heavy user of a razor copperhead for over a year i've had no problems at all.i'm not brand loyal so having said that my next mouse will be a steelseries ,trouble is this copperhead refuses to break
