I have a Razer DeathAdder in Vista x64. Seems to work fine with their drivers though to update the firmware you need a 32bit OS, so you'd need another PC or dual-boot.

One thing I found out though, DeathAdder needs a good mouse pad/surface to work properly. I had an Xtrac ZOOM mouse pad and the DeathAdder would randomly move by itself at times. Thinking it was the mouse itself, I went through a couple months of emailing back and forth with Razer to finally get a RMA. I was disappointed when the issue still occured when I got it back. So I bought a Func F30.R (wish I got the F30.S but none were in stock at the time) and the mouse works perfectly.

I use a Razer Diamondback with the mantis speed pad, zero issues in vista 32bit.

Another question are you a "Palm ON" or "fingertip" user, I find razers tend to be more suited to the Fingertip (claw) user. I've used a ton of mice over the years and would have to say the razer is way more comfy and suited to my style of use, this is wayyy more important than numbers IMHO, especially after a few hours of fragging.

Go feel them out first, Thats my opinion.

All Staples will have is the Logitech MX518, MX400, MX620, and MX Revolution and the MS Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 for gaming mice ...

Your local one may have the Logitech G3, G5, G7, and/or MS Habu, Sidewinder leftover from Christmas, but I doubt it given it's late July ...

I miss living in the sticks lol.

not sure if Staples will have any samples on display. at best they will have the boxes with the plastic mold you can put your hand over.
