New CM Trigger Keyboard and G13

I've been looking at getting a new keyboard for some time. I knew I wanted mechanical - was not sure which colour cherries I wanted but i was sold on mechanical.

I also wanted lots of macro buttons so i could configure all of the buttons in my flight simulators - I just wanted to get away from using the keyboard keys for lower landing gear and turning on the fasten your seatbelts signs (Ok I get carried away with this fligh sim thing). Anyway, lots of buttons on a 747 so i wanted lots of buttons on my keyboard.

The K90/K95 seemed to be the ticket - but at what price, the K90's were out of production and K95's were coming in a $150 (Direct Canada had a special on at $130 a little while back and I was tempted, might have gone for it if Memory Ex had the K95 in stock and would do the price match +25% thing - but they were sold out.

I hesitated.

A while earlier I had tried a few of the Coolermaster keyboards at a Memory Express in the city - they seemed to be a good choice - but the Trigger only had five macro switches, I wanted more.

Then Memory Express put the Trigger on super sale $50 off. I watched several reviews on the CM Storm Trigger and from what I could see these were very good keyboards. I also saw that the G13 was on sale ($59) and with MemExpress's 'uber' price match I got it for about $50. So add a G13 to a CM Trigger and I get more macro keys than I need for a 747, a bonus Logitech mini LCD display, and a very kool keyboard. It is Cherry Blue's - and I'm liking the feel of these keys. Several reviewers raved about the blues and bemoned the fact that they were so few and far between with most manufactures going for the middle ground red's or the finger strengthening blacks. These blues feel nice.

Now that fact that the keyboard can glow red (with a few lighting options) is also a bonus. I knew I wanted backlighting - blue would have matched my decor better but I can live with red. I knew I didn't want Razer Green.

I'm obviously not sold on a particular brand for my rig - CM Trigger keyboard, Logitech G13 and G27 wheel, Thrustmaster joystick and trottle, Wacom tablet, Razer mouse, (I'm running out of USB ports for input devices).

BTW anyone else with a CM keyboard? I have an odd issue; - the "manual" is an on-line video but I cannot get the volume to work, it is mute. They must have a downloadable PDF somewhere on that site eh? Need to learn how to program the macro keys on the keyboard. And on the Logitech G13 too.
