Need new keyboard - Wired + small
 

Hey all, unfortunately my hand problems have still yet to be resolved (some 2+ years later) and now i find that when gaming my arms start curving inwards towards each other. This makes my mouse hand smash into the numpad side of my already-small keyboard. So, Im wondering if there's an even smaller option out there.

Right now im using my Everglide DKT pro keyboard and still love it, but id like to find one that is:
1- Wired
2- No numpad
3- Durable
4- Backlit
5- Aluminum?

Only #s 1 and 2 are required though.... Suggestions? Non-mechanical please... too hard for my fingers to push down easily anymore :(

Not sure what your budget is or brand preference but here would be my choice Filco Majestouch 2 Cherry MX Red Switch 87 Key Mechanical Keyboard Black - Filco - FKBN87MRL/EB2 It has Cherry MX Red switches that are VERY easy to depress. My Corsair K90 has them and they're way easier to press then the rubber dome switches on my old G15.

Mechanical keyboard also = higher keys, which can also cause discomfort...

If you can find one..the old Apple wired compact keyboard is very good.
but if you can't find it..I like this one (although a bit bulky)

This is really dependent on the specific mechanical switches in use.

I just tested my MS Mobile KB 6000 (low profile membrane keys), my Logitech Elite (regular depth membrane) and my Kinesis Advantage (cherry brown switches) by putting stacks of coins on keys until the depressed.

The MS low profile and Kinesis mechanical keyboards took the same amount of force (to the nearest penny), while the standard membrane Logitech took more force. (I didn't have enough coins to make its keys depress.)

Re: Mechanical keyboards in general: the Height of the keys themselves actually make it difficult for me sometimes, I actually had a Thermaltake Meka keyboard but stopped using it due to discomfort.

Mainly to help weed out the keyboards you do want, wherever you search make sure to put in "87 Key" into the field.

I'd say if you REALY wanted to make it easy on your hand/arm n ect ..... i'd say find a Microsoft Egronomic 4000 .... but its big, has no major bells n whistles like a gaming keyboard ..... BUT with your keyboard & other hand/fingers positioned properly it will make a diffrence !!

Thx for the links Arinoth, the Adesso could be an option if it has some durability to it, im lookin for review right now.

As for ergonomic... you've never used one of those things have you? meant for people with carpal tunnel... which i dont have. It wont help for me at all im afraid...
