Default Internal SD Card Reader

Title says it all, is it possible to buy an internal SD Card Reader, one that basically has the internal USB header so I can keep it inside my server.

I know there's the standard ones that run about 10$, but they are meant to be mounted in a 5.25" or a 3.5" bay, those I do not want.

I know its not exactly what you have asked for, but you can get SD to SATA connectors that are small boards usually with a 2.5" HDD bracket. Would that work? if so I can hunt through my bookmarks. I have one in one of my servers.... it worked but I ended up just using USB keys after that for my needs, cheaper and just as good.

That may be something I'm looking for, would love to see the link if you still can find it.

Unfortunately it needs to be USB as my sever currently has no spare sata ports.

Just mount an SD card reader backwards so the front of it is in the case?

I want to try to avoid that if possible as I'm using a server case, though if I can't I guess I may have to go with one of those.

Hmmm how about a hacked USB front panel with one of these plugged in? it will have a header and you can getto tape it together so it does not come lose.

Here might be a good possibility for you. I have the Pro 35 U which is a 3.5" internal/external USB 2.0 from Atech, they also make a USB 3.0 model as well.

What about something like this and use a USB keydrive? Amazon.ca: USBMBADAPT2

Right angle version: USB Header Adapter

If you need SD, they make a reader the size of a USB keydrive that combined with one of those might suit your purpose.

Or get creative and make you're own :)
