Dvd drive noise issues Do you guy ever experience when putting in a dvd into your dvd drive and it just ramps up in noise due to spinning so fast. I need advice from you guys out there on what I can do to help with this noise issue. My computer itself is pretty quiet but it seems like when I put the dvd into the dvd drive for either burning or reading, it becomes the loudest part of my computer which kind of sucks. :censored: the dvd drive I have currently is: Samsung SH-S243D/BEBE SATA 24X Black DVD Writer OEM I'm assuming it's at which the disc is spinning? and what happens if I burn at slower speeds? |
off balance discs are the biggest source of noise.... that and cheap tool-less cases. if you have the option to screw down your drive then do so. a reduction in spindle speed will also reduce the noise some. |
thanks for the reply, i'm using corsair 600t as my cause and how do i reduce spindle speed? |
Take the drive out of your case and sit it on the shelf. :D That's what I do. It is easy enough to hook up the times you need it, unless you are needing it all the time. |
The only time I've used a CD is to install windows. And these days, you can do that off of a USB stick anyways... |
