Looking to buy a new headset again, don't want to keep wasting money

Alright my specs are in my sig, but I can get this from a buddy for $30 SoundBlaster Xi-Fi Titanium PCI-E

So I presume that would be worth it and then get myself some decent headphones after :) I'll search around for sales on the ones you mentioned. I remember like 6 years ago steelseries siberias and icemats were the best lol also heard good things about medusa's back in the day...

Yes, that card would do fine. I think you'll probably notice a difference with your current speakers, let alone once you get a good headset.

I like my razer Carcharias. Very comfy, great sound on mic and headset and reasnobly priced and outperforms the corsair.

just on the note of the G930s having the occasional wireless noise, is it just kind of a ticking noise? or does it just cut off for a while? I ran into the ticking noise thing a while back shortly after getting them, and it turned out to be that I had plugged it into a bad USB port or something. plugged it into another port and it fixed that. I've also had it cut out for a second or 2 every once in a while, but that was just the drivers being out of date.
can't really help you with the hot ears thing, I've just gotten used to it at this point.

Your on-board should be a little better than USB.. as S1lk said.. sound card a decent quality (build and sound) and you won't have to upgrade for a very long time..

That said the more you get into your sound the more you'll want to spend. lol.

Alright I got a deal off a friend getting a Steelseries Siberia v2 for $50 (he's only had it like 2 weeks) hopefully this is a big improvement over my crap headset..

Hopefully I'll see a deal on the headsets mentioned in here soon and I'll grab them and hand these down to my son...
