Default Surround Speaker Sys

Well my 7.1 Creative P7800 inspire speaker system has kicked the bucket, I only get sound out of 3 channels.

So here I am cursing and needing a new set of speakers.

I was never really happy with the inspire anyway as I was not able to fully utilize the 7.1 surround on my Mobo due to a poor connection setup on the speaker system. It had 4 connectors for the input to the sub (center/sub, front, side and rear) but only 3 connectors for the Mobo output, where my mobo has 4 outputs.

Looking for recommendations for a good quality speaker system to fully maximize my 7.1 High Definition sound from my x38-DQ6. Not wanting to spend $500.00 on speakers but want a REAL good set.

Have you ever had them working on the DQ6?

No,

I thought it may had been my A8N-e but confirmed it was in fact the speakers when I moved them on to the DQ6.

Pouched.

Were they working with your A8Ne?

The reason I'm asking is that Realtek has a strange (to me anywise... :) ) naming convention for the positions of multi speaker sets.... I had a devil of a time trying to get the "rear" speakers of my 4.1 set to output sound until somebody informed me that they were "side" speakers rather than "rear" :) .

I doubt this is your issue, but had to put it out there just in case. :)
