Default To purchase another camera or a webcam insted ...

So, I don't use my camera much & its gettin older so I sold it abit ago.

Now the dilema is do i look at buying a camera, digital mini camcorder or just a high end webcam.

Im lookin to post more videocilps of my guitar playing & other video's to my utube channel, but also would like the option to still take photo's such as when I go out with my bud on his railfanning adventures.

Things I have looked at so far as options:

Kodak Zx5 Burton Edition: Kodak Playsport ZX5 Burton Edition HD Video Camera Bundle : High Definition Pocket Camcorders - Future Shop

Toshiba Camileo S30: Toshiba Camileo S30 Full HD Camcorder Black 1080P HDMI Out SDHC - Toshiba - PA3893C-1CAM

Nikon Coolpix 6200: Nikon COOLPIX 16.0MP Digital Camera (S6200) - Black : Extended Zoom - Future Shop

thoughts ?

You probably want a camera of some sort - I've got an MS lifecam studio, one of the higher quality webcams outside the ones Logitech just released at CES, and the picture quality doesn't compare to my 5 year-old point-and-shoot.

A modern camera should do fine for video - even modern phones are pretty good: Nokia Lumia 800 720 HD video sample - YouTube

Oh yeah, I wasn't recommending you use a cellphone for video work, just pointing out how good cellphone video recording is compared to webcams or cameras of a few years ago. :)

well depending on your needs/budget obviously a webcam is going to be considerably alot cheaper than a camera or video camera. But depending on your needs and budget i would look at either of these.

Low end - Zoom Q3HD (around $300 bucks from BH Photo Video)
Mid Range - MFT or Entry dSLR that does Video or a canon vixia camera (around the 500-800 price range)
High End - Something nuts like a Sony VX series, RED Epic, Etc
