Pineapple juice all over keyboard So I was playing some Diablo II with a buddy the other night, and I managed to slop alot of sticky pineapple juice all over my keyboard. I unplugged my keyboard as soon as it happened. What would be the best way to clean out the keyboard. Alcohol?, Soapy hot water? dishwasher? It is just a basic logitech, membrane type keyboard so no biggie if it dies. Alot of the keys are stuck and very crunchy. |
Any of the 3 methods can work. It would be best to take the keyboard apart and clean/wash the parts, but throwing it in the dishwasher can work if you're super lazy and don't care about the keyboard. Just let it dry out for a few days. |
Ya... pineapple juice. ;) |
I'd remove them keys, disassemble and drop it in the dishwasher. |
I agree with the above becasue I had something similar happen to me with my Nephew playing ET and knocking over his glass of Coke onto Keyboard, I cleaned it manullay but it took a very very very long time and still didn't get it totally clean, which is why I gave him the KB afterwards |
Yup just pulled one of my keyboards apart for cleaning a month or so ago. I have done fully assembled KB's in the dishwasher before but since this one has usb and leds, I just pulled the cover and key sets out, washed them then washed the membrains. |
So i just submerged it in a sink of hot soapy water and swooshed it around a bit. I then took it apart and let it dry over a vent. Works fine now. Dang I wanted to buy one of those mech keyboards:biggrin: |
