My System Specs

Default Keyboard suggestions?
Currently looking for an upgrade to my stock Dell keyboard. I'm an avid gamer (particularily WoW and WoT, but I've been playing LoL and just about any shooter as well) and looking for something somewhat quiet, definitely backlit, but something RELIABLE as well. I've heard horror stories of the SteelSeries SHIFT keyboards. Budget is around $120 - the cheaper the better, but I understand quality comes at a cost.

Oh, and wireless/wired not important. My deskspace is fairly compact.

A G110 is a good start, found for about 100 or so. THey are higher quality.

Higher end of the scale is a G510 which allows things like Coretemp and Afterburner to be displayed in your keyboards screen.

Saitek's Eclplise is another one to consider, though I find there lighting to be a bit off.

I would highly recommend going mechanical if you want to spend that kind of money. Although there are only a couple of backlit mechanical keyboards. Razer Blackwidow Ultimate probably would be the best choice. But it isn't exactly quiet.

I can recommend the black widow ultimate as well. It IS very loud, but I got used to it after a while.

Although I haven't used the new Corsair K60/K90 keyboards, they are worth looking at.

Thermaltake Meka G1, if you're not looking for something overly flashy. I agree that at that price range you should be looking at a mechanical keyboard of some sorts though.
