Antec Halo Bias Lighting (now with pics!)
So I picked up Antec's Halo Bias Lighting kit last week, and it just arrived in the mail. Scored it for $7 at canadadirect, so I figured I've spent $7 in worse ways, why not try this out?

Anywho, it took all of two minutes to install, and just sticks on to the back of your monitor and plugs into a usb port. I was not aware such things existed until I saw it posted up somewhere a couple weeks ago (can't remember if it was here or somewhere else).

Well it's pretty light out right now, but I'll have more to say about it once it gets darker tonight. For now though it does create a cool backlit effect against the wall.

Do tell how you find it.

I've been considering putting some lights behind my monitor mainly because where my monitor is it's in between 2 pot lights so the lighting is rather dark and definitely causes some eye strain into the wee hours of the night ;)

Only issue though is I have a U2711 which is 3" too big for these lights. Probably wouldn't matter too much though I suppose.

I've done that for years behind my 42" TV.

I'm sure it's not the correct color or temperature of light, but it did make a positive difference.

Thanks for the link, saves me from looking for it.

Wonder if 1 would be enough for my 27" or if I should grab 2 to be safe.

Only issue I can foresee is that the monitor's USB ports stay powered unless I actually turn the monitor off.

So it finally got dark enough!

I wonder if I shouldn't have gotten another 1 or 2 for the other monitors....so far so good. I really like the lighting, it makes the screen a lot easier on the eyes in the dark.

For 7 bucks...pretty awesome.

The light looks a lot brighter in the 2nd picture than it actually is, but oh well!

also, what it looks like behind the monitor.

I got mine today, put a set on the top and bottom of my U2711. Gives it a decent glow I'd say.

I think the 3rd picture is the closest representation to real-world, but it's a tad brighter.

You guys just reminded me. I still have them at NCIX to pick up... totally forgot about them

Thanks JD, I was actually waiting to see how you like em before I grab a couple. How do the eyes feel? Since I assume you just got them care to comment them after you have used them for a bit. Do you find you need the 2 on your U2711? Could you unplug one and let me know how that is?

I know questions, questions.

I assume they are sticky backed and if I dont have to stick 2 on then that would be better. But if one isnt enough then I'll do 2.
