Um..is he's willing to spend up to 150, there's an entirely new world out there. Especially with the likes of the Fischer Audio DBA-02 and Vsonic GR07.

True (and I agree 150 brings a HUGE jump in quality) but thats a 50% increase in budget. ;)

Oh and to the OP...good IEMS are a "gateway drug". Dont be surprised if you find yourself looking at head-fi type forums, and looking for ways to justify a pair of UE Trip Fi's, Shure 535's, Weston UM3Xs and a couple others. Hell you may even start looking at high end cans as well. :)~

Thanks so much for all the feedback so far guys. I've dug in for a wee bit of reading. Never even heard of the brands Jackie mentioned. Sounds like the Shures are a good bet if I don't want to spend too much time thinking about it, though. Thanks again and sorry for posting in the wrong forum! I'm new.

I am enjoying my new Shure SE215's. Still getting used to the way they feel, as they're quite bulky compared to the CX300's, but they fit perfectly and sound excellent - definitely a lot more treble than the CX300's without sacrificing the bass. They're also a bit louder, as I've had to dial back my normal listening volume a notch or two. Thanks once again to Jackie, AkG and everybody who helped me out!
