Still holding back on my mouse purchase. Worried I'll get a "defective" Cooler Master mouse lol

Are the Saitek mouses the same as the Cooler Master ones? Just wondering because both of them use the model name (R.A.T. 7, R.A.T. 9, etc.).

CM Storm Sentinel Zero G Gaming Mouse. - Official CM Storm Forum

I would wait for the Zero-g before grabbing one today.

I own more mice than anyone i know, easily the most fussy person when it comes to comfort and build quality, the smallest thing can just throw me right off.

I own 4 razer mice, 3 cooler master, 2 Microsoft, 2 logitech and the list goes on.

Coolermasters are great, fantastic build quality, functionality and feel (spawn is great)

The logitechs are also good, nice feel but i dont like the quality of some of their buttons/scroll wheels.

Microsoft sidewinder series are also good mice, not for everyone as the size can throw some people off, i have normal medium hands and use a medium grip that is a bit finger/palm and claw (hard to describe)

Saitek RAT series - just so so good.

If i could put one mouse up there as the winner it would have to be the saitek RAT 5, it wins in terms of both build quality and comfort.

There is nothing worse than buying a great feeling mouse only for it to have cheap buttons/scroll wheel that die on you in a couple months (a few razers) not that razer is bad by any means, just seem to have more bad apples than most.

The RAT 7 is so well build and customizable that it is hard to fault, this is just my honest opinion, it's pricey but you get what you pay for i guess.

Best of luck finding something that suits you.

I've got 2 MX518's and I highly recommend them. I picked one of them up last year off ebay (used) for like ~$14 shipped lol.

I think they will be comparable to the Sentinel when they release here price wise.

Sorry to Jack/Bump this thread, but I have also been looking around for a new mouse. I've had a Logitech MX500 for ~8 years now and it's been giving me a hard time for almost a year. I'm looking a good replacement that would fit my Claw style (eg: Deathadder...). Suggestions?

i bought a CM Storm Sentinel

had it for like 3 months now. been happy with it
no tracking issues

i had a black cloth mouse pad

i tried it on my desk, bare surface, fine as well
i'm using a made up mouse pad of thin hard plastic. and thats working fine too

the middle button (scroll wheel button) is hard to press down, but i never used it in the first place
its basically the same size as a logitech mx518

really best advice, try and go into a store that has the mouse or similar you are interested in
and feel how it fits in your hand

my only gripe, is that of the 2 mouse buttons by the thumb, the forward one...is too far forward
but it could be the way i hold the mouse too

I agree 100% the CM Storm Sentinel is a FANTASTIC mouse, Cooler Master have really done well with all there mice, I own 4 of them because I like them all.

May fav mice would have to be the CM Sentinel, CM Inferno, CM Spawn and the Deathadder 3500

Hard to stay with one mice when you like a few ;)

I'd buy it in a heart beat if the scroll wheel could tilt like my Logitech does. I tried gaming with mice that don't have the tilt and I just can't do it anymore. Muscle reflex ftl
That's really the only thing holding me back from buying the RAT.
