not really. the wattage rating on your psu is the max load it can handle before stuff starts happening. Bad stuff. To find out your wattage you will need either to get a killawatt meter to measure the load or use this psu calculator to give you a good ball park. eXtreme Power Supply Calculator

as for brand APC is one of the better known brands. Eatons are also very good.
