I would recommend either the Logitech MX518 Optical or Alienware TactX. Depends on the size of your hands as the Alienware one is smaller.

$50 right now. I wouldn't touch any Razer laser mice since they all use the problematic Twin-Eye sensor. If you liked your G9 then you'll probably love the TactX.

Actually, the Deathadders use an optical sensor. They track fine for me across any surface.

How can you tell if it's an affiliate review?

Absolutely love my G9x. RMA'd my G9 after about 2 1/2 years of use (the left click failed, along with the laser) and received the G9x without question.

I agree with Beancounter, Logitech MX series and you can't go wrong. Not very expensive either.

It's not the problem with optical vs laser sensor. It's the fact that the Twin-eye laser sensor found on the Razer imperator and R.A.T series are just plain terrible

Just the razer imperator, or all razer mouse products?

Indeed and Razer's support doesn't hold a candle to Logitech's. I personally use an MX518 and a G5 but I might be upgrading to a G500 soon. The hyperscroll doesn't bode well with me considering my VX revolution and MX1100 scrolls become 'loose' after awhile.
