Saw this pop a few times on RFD for 39.99, free shipping from dell.ca

Got one about 2 months ago and it replaced my old MX500 that I have been using for 5+ years. I must say that I am really satisfied with it.

These are manufactured by logitech so they will be compatible with logitechs software as Sky said.

If you do a little research, you can quickly find many examples of people having issues with the particular sensor used in that mouse. How many reviews did I read that discussed the sensor issues? None. These are the kinds of things that are very important to people who are actually using their mice, but most reviews either don't touch on them at all or only look at them briefly. These are the kinds of things that I would like to see in future reviews here.
Can you expand on this a bit further? I don't keep my ear to the ground all that much when it comes to peripherals so what kind of sensor issues are you referring to which none of the reviewers picked up?

Wrong, it is not compatible with Logitech's software. Setpoint does not detect it and the only way to access its full functionality is with the customized TactX-branded software.

Search for problems with the Phillips Twin-Eye sensor. In a nutshell, picking up the mouse causes the cursor to jump down and to the left or right depending on how the mouse is designed, and on certain surfaces lifting the mouse a certain distance can cause the mouse to stop tracking for a moment. The other major problem I had was that rapidly clicking one of the mouse buttons caused the cursor to jitter around, making it difficult to aim precisely. I'm not sure if that was a problem with the physical design of the mouse or another sensor issue (people have reported similar cursor jitter issues with other Twin-Eye products like the Razer Lachesis), but either way, it was a nuisance.

Nice review, SKY! I thought it was long enough to get some key information about the mouse, but short enough that it was a quick read.

Personally i love my Sentinel Advance and I've had no issues with it. If i had to say something its that the coating on the top of the mouse is pealing, but this would be hard to put in a review as it only happened after 3 months.

At the time of the CM mouse review the "issue" was not blown out of proportion like it has been recently. I never had an issue with that mouse or would have mentioned it, and yes I do pick my mouse up of my mousepad during FPS'ers. I just dont wave it around while doing it. Up, over, down. Lifting way up and off the mouse pad slows this process down. More to the point, my Rat 7 actually does exhibit the tracking issue from time to time. Though it only started doing so after about a 140hrs of use, which even IF I had done a RAT 7 review for HWC means it wouldnt have been mentioned in anything but a passing fashion (basically "this sample doesnt seem to have it"). I am of the opinion that it more a issue with SOME and not all and is hard to test for on a given sample (unles it already HAS started exhibiting it). After all 140hrs or more of testing is not a reasonable expectation.

Anyways that is OT.

On topic. I like the short review format and enjoyed reading the review.
