Default New Scanner

So i am finding my self in need of a new scanner the one i have is quite old around 10 years. I would prefer one that has an ADF module but from what i can tell there isn't much in the sub $450-500 price band. Also it needs to be fully compatible with windows 7 x64. Any ideas ?

Do you mind if i ask what you plan on scanning? If its documents thats a whole lotta wasted money.

The HP Scanjet 5590 maybe an option:
HP Scanjet 5590 Digital Flatbed Scanner 2400DPI 48BIT USB2.0 - DirectCanada

It does have Win7 64 bit software and drivers:
HP Scanjet 5590 Digital Flatbed Scanner series*-* Download drivers and software - HP Business Support Center

What about purchasing a $200-400 all in one printer/scanner/copier/fax?

mostly documents for archival purposes. as well as a large number of photos (but i woudln't use the ADF for that). The problem i have found with the all in ones is lot of times the ADF is only used for the fax part when you do regular scanning it just uses the normal flatbed scanner.

Oh gawd, I'm tired. I read your thread title as "new scammer".

Back on topic, I'll check my Canon all-in-one when I get home. I believe it can use the ADF while scanning, but will confirm tonight.

Just looked up the specs on my MX-320. It does ADF for scan, copy, and fax. I don't know if the resolution is good enough for you.

It's on sale for $53 this week at NCIX http://ncix.com/products/index.php?s...n&promoid=1088

thanks,

I found something else. I don't like the inkjet based solutions and don't really have space or need for 2 printers. I decided to replace my current scanner and printer with a canon imageclass that ncix has on sale. can't beat the price really. around $400 for a imageclass grade color laser multifunction with networking.

Canon ImageCLASS MF8050CN it was still cheaper to have it shipped than to buy locally.
