Default Xai laser or the Ikari laser

Hey HWC,

Recently my second Ikari laser broke down (my replacement one, only after a month or so),
and steelseries is willing to send me either another Ikari laser, or a Xai laser if I want.

I understand that the Xai retails for higher, and that the technology is better, but I see that it isn't ergonomic... I am NOT left handed, and I found the Ikari quite comfortable, but I also don't want to wind up with another mouse that will end up breaking right after my warranty ends. I have found steelseries products to be quite unreliable.

So what do you think? Would it be a sort of a downgrade to get a Xai, or would it be smarter. Also, can someone who has a Xai, please tell me if it is somewhat comfortable?

Thanks in advance.

Well I've never used the Xai but there is no way I would personally go w/ one. The reason I like my Ikari so much is the comfort and ergonomics of it.

Ikari. The Xai looks like a pretty lousy mouse to be honest, not to mention the fact that it is extremely overpriced.

The thing is I don't have to pay anything. They are just compensating for wasting my time by offering me a more expensive mouse. I kind of wanted to get the Xai because I feel like if I get another Ikari, it will just break again, and plus I felt like I need some new technology , but then I guess I have to give up ergonomacy...

Well, the Xai may be more expensive, but I think the Ikari is still the better mouse. Unless you want to take the Xai and then sell it and buy a different mouse with the cash.

Heh alright, looks like everyone thinks getting another Ikari would be the wiser choice. But if this next Ikari breaks... RAAAAAAAGE :P

Ahhhhh I am so conflicted, according to the steelseries forums and other forums, there are a bunch of people complaining about the 2 problems I have had on each of my Ikari's, and I am really starting to doubt that if I got another Ikari, it would last for more than a year. I am going to have to go with the Xai on this one. I just really don't want to have to buy a new mouse after 6 months of gaming >.<

My Ikari is pretty close to 2 years old now and works like a champ. Maybe you'll luck out on the next one.

Sure hope so... Do you by any chance use a plasticy mouse pad unlike a cloth pad. Because I use a steelseries QCK+ cloth mouse pad, and I have heard other people having Ikari problems, and they all use cloth pads. So just wondering.
