Default Gigabyte's orange SATA cables

anybody having/experiencing any problems with these? be it either the clip on tips wearing out, or for whatever other reasons they may cause your data not to flow properly?

i'm asking because someone i know claims they are are crap, doomed to fail. just want to see if there are other stories out there.

for my part I never reuse a Sata Cable. Except the 36" long one in my Mozart case.

IMHO the Gigabyte cables are eons better than the crap that Asus included for years with their kit. Any mfg'er will make a bad cable from time to time. Its just the law averages and mass production in action. TBH I'll take a GB clip cable over any OEM no retention clip cable any day of the week. At least the GB's STAY in place and don't fall out unless you mess with 'em. About the only cables that I can say absolutely are better are the old WD "SecureConnect" cables....now THAT was a cable! But yeah, I never reuse my cables either from new build to new build. They are too cheap to cheap out on. ;)

YMMV

I am using the gigabyte cables and to be honest I think they are good quality. I have all 4 that came with my motherboard hooked up and running without issue. I ordered some other cables from Performance-PCS an to be honest they were crap. I wish Canadian retailers would carry a larger variety of SATA & Fan extension cables.

I've got tons of those here, and have been using them in all my builds for the last year. Not a single issue. I imagine your friend just got a bad cable.

I've never thought twice about using the Gigabyte orange ones, I'm using a few in my HTPC and a few in other computers I've built.
