Default Razer Death Adder mouse - help please

Would anybody know if Razer DeathAdder mouse can be programmed with one of the thumb buttons in this following way:
Pressing the thumb button - keboard CTRL down character is sent.
Releasing the thumb button - keyboard CTRL up character is sent.
(by thumb button I mean any of those two that Death Adder has)

This sequence cannot be programmed on IKARI steelseries mice.
On IKARI one can program any sequence of events starting when you press the thumb button.
Does not matter how long you keep it pressed, and nothing can be programed at button release.

Does anybody have the DeathAdder mouse and tested this CTRL down when thumb button down - CTRL up when thumb button up sequence ? (I am looking to get one, but I need this functinality)

Thanks!

Yup, you can assign macros to Mouse 4 and 5 (aka thumb buttons), and you can use Crtl as a key.

Just tested and it works too.

I think he's asking if you can map actions to releasing a mouse button and not just pressing it.

You may be able to use a third party program to do the push/release thing, AFAIK the software can't do that (I own the mouse).

But it automatically does Crtl Up when you release the button...

Works identical to pressing/releasing Crtl on the keyboard.

I think we need an exact example of what you want to do, for example in a game is you map grenade to it it will throw upon releasing but if you want to say bind it to a character in a program so pressing down enters one character and releasing is another it won't work.

No, you can't have them send something when you release the button.
