I'm pretty happy with my OCZ Alchemy Elixir. It is well priced on NCIX, and HWC did a review of it if you want more information.

OCZ Alchemy Elixir Gaming Keyboard Review

For me the only real downside is the 5 million keystroke lifespan, but I'm still expecting a couple of years out of it, which I think is acceptable for the price. I can answer specific questions about it, if you have any.

I purchased this a few weeks ago after it was recommended to me. Got it on sale for $19.99.

I've never used the Merc but I would also suggest it. Once you use a keyboard like that (i use a Wolf King Timberwolf for FPS) it really is hard to go back.

I see no review has been done on the Ideazon merc. I think I'll try my hand at a review when I get the chance. I'll use the Stalker games for the fps. It seems every fps I play just doesn't feel right with a standard keyboard.

i am thinking of getting the merc stealth so i look forward to what you think. My main concern is the spacebar button you need to press to jump. it looks a little small and if its not perfectly placed it may ruin the whole thing for me

Any reason in particular why you want a "gaming" keyboard? I would just recommend one of Logitech's standard inexpensive keyboards instead. They are probably better quality than any budget gaming keyboard, and I doubt you would miss any of the special gaming features either.

The Saitek Eclipse can usually be had for under $40 (Newegg, or PM/sale at NCIX), and I've heard nothing but good things about that board.

I took my merc out of the box to place my hand on the gaming pad section of the keyboard. What a difference! Direction buttons are comfortable and weapon buttons within such easy reach! The keys are also programmable and pre programmed templates are available for some games.
