Razer Megalodon 7.1 Gaming Headset

Look impressive. I'm due for replacement, but $170 seems a little steep.

Well they can't be any worse than the piranha's. Damn those things were uncomfortable...looks like they learned from their mistakes.

I read on head-fi.org that "surround sound" headphones are a gimmick, you can't get true surround sound.

^^ You can if your using multiple speakers, but NOT if your using 1 and emulating surround sound. As long as the sound outputs near the front or rear of either ear then it will sound like its coming from those areas. Its really not hard at all to get true surround sound from a headset as long as the company does it right.

As for this headset, I was thinking about grabbing it but im really not sure, I havent seen any reviews done of it yet so im going to wait for those before I drop $200 on a new headset.
