Mind you, that you are comparing a MX mouse a generation newer than the Revolution. It's not really a surprise here that some improvements have been made.
I have recently gone from my MX Revolution to the G700. The Revolution would last close to two weeks without needing a charge. It was great. Now ... my G700 with the same amount of use will last four days if I'm lucky.

I'm a little peeved about the battery life, but the extra features of the G700 are nice, and I'm getting use to charging it every couple of days.

The amount of delay on the G700 is significantly less though, if I recall. It's one of the few good gaming wireless mice.

Have you had yours long? Mine was like that for the first two weeks or so. I cycled the battery, letting it die completely and charge fully before using, probably a handful of times and it got significantly better. Lasts about four days now, as mentioned.

I've had it since Oct last year. I've been letting it run until the mouse dies before replacing the battery. It's funny I have 5 eneloops dedicated to this mouse
