the silverstone raven is $34.99 right now at NCIX =) its a pretty nice mouse, as for DPI, I have my G5 cranked to 2k DPI when gaming and sometimes I dont feel its enough =( I dont like the G9 because if your hands sweat at all the grip can be kinda irksome plus either grip is to short for me. Mice are one of those areas where personal preference really comes into play.

That's a good point about the G9 being short, if your a palm gamer the G9 is def a no go. But if you use a claw type grip the G9 is made for you. My favorite part of the G9 is the different grips, one for narrow one for wide.

It would be kinda nice to see them make some longer styled grips for the G9, might make it a better choice for guys like me.

i can vouch for the new microsoft x8 mouse. Its pretty sweet. Its pretty much a poor mans mamba mouse, it is wireless, tracks on almost any surface, has 4000dpi, programable buttons, redesigned feel so its actually comfortable, long battery life, and wired mode so you can charge and keep using the mouse.

My only complaint with it is i find the metal scroll wheel uncomfortable if you are doing a ton of scrolling.

The X8 really looks like a solid mouse, but most people don't really like to try new mouses. They stick with the big names like Razer and Logitech. And the bit-tech review gives the mouse a 5 in value because it was 100 US dollars when the review was published, but it's 65 dollars Canadian at NCIX.ca right now since they have a special. It seems to pack alot of function and value.

Oddly I'm a grip user, and the G9 is still WAY too short and small. Performance was good, but ergonomics was designed by drunkards.

+1 for the Ikari

Yes that Ikari was suggested to me by a few folks on the Forum here as I wasn't sure and figured their had to be something better out thier than Razer or Logitech.....I'm telling you this Mouse is incredible, extremely comfortable (and I'm totally fussy), fast and smooth. I like the ability to switch DPI speeds on the button located below my thumb, great for going from gaming to desktop.
For $57 (optical)...great deal, if you must have laser it is also available....comes with a pretty cool Case Sticker as well....I had never heard of Ikari until I started researching "mice", for a replacement.

I like the look of that gigabyte. wireless and gaming mouse do not belong together, the idea of both is kinda cool if its executed properly but ive done the wireless thing and it was a horibad experience and ill never go back. I absolutely love the feeling and reliability of wired mice and keyboards. I do however have a good buddy who LOVED his G7 untill it randomly bit the bucket, but he never had any problems with disconects or lag, guess some people get lucky.

Another not bad mouse is that OCZ vanquisher or whatever its called, I know it was selling for $20 for the longest time but has since doubled in price >.< but when it was $20 it was an awesome mouse for the price, and it was actually pretty comfortable.

EDIT: Wtf the steel series come with case stickers?? damn it now I want one!
