Gaming Headphones
 

Hey all, looking for a good pair of gaming headphones for around $150 to $200. These will be used solely for gaming. I have the Bose quiet comfort for everything else but I need something with a mic. Would like a pair thats very comfortable. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thnx

Also, I have Creative X-FI MB sound card.

My suggestion is to get a good pair of closed headphones and a separate mic. I like my M-Audio Q40's a lot. But there are tons of other good ones. Some Beyer DT770s are favoured by a lot of people.

Avoid Icemat Syberia,Razer Piranha - average sound, cheap plastic

You may want to focus more one the specific features of the headset since you have audio specific headphones already. Things like noise canceling microphones, 5.1 audio, cable length, cable breaks (if you step on the cord will it separate at some connectors or from the headset breaking it in the process). At 100+ you'll probably get comfort as a side benefit.

I have the creative wireless gaming headset, best 100 bucks I ever spent.

Anything from BOSE or Creative is garbage. Look at Sennheiser or Beyerdynamic.

In that price range I'd get a sweet pair of Sennheisers and a standalone mic. Anything "gaming" won't even compare or be worth the money imo.

I can vouch for the Senn PC350's, but I'll grant that there's likely a premium in there for the convenience of having the mic integrated into the headset. If you don't mind a separate mic (find them annoying, personally), you could probably get more for your money that way.
