Is there a webcam made out there that doesn't have a built in mic? lol Oh & that actually takes a half decent pic?

The Logitech Communicate STX takes really nice pics but it has a mic.

Here's a funny cowboy who reviews a lot of webcams, he takes screen shots of each one at it's maximum resolution which gives an idea of what kind of quality pic you can expect.

It's pretty difficult to find one without a mic and none of the ones without a mic are any good.

The Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000 is excellent all-around. The Communicate STX, as mentioned earlier, is also pretty decent, though it will lag pretty noticeably in low-light and has some artifacting (if you where dark clothes, you'll get weird white sparkles. Also has a tendency to overemphasize purple).

Personally, I'd just get the Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000.

Sadly Logitech is the #1 company for consumer grade web cams. The new ones are using the CarlZenis lens. What I recommend you do is go over to Canada Computers, last time I checked they sold refurbished Logitech webcams at a substantial discounted price, Bought the portable Netbook one and the 9000 for my brother. All have worked flawlessy.

It amazes me how Logitech is willing to produce a quality webcam but then match it with doggy software that leaves a big foot print.
