My System Specs

Default UPS - the good kind

Seem's ye old 500VA UPS is not enough for my rig's current configuration, the PC goes into standby even in a slight brownout. How big of one do I really need?

Q6600 @ 3.0 100% load 24/7
HD4870X2 (one core 100% load)
2 SATA HD
2 SATA DVD RW
Xfi
5 120mm fans
pump (eventually )
And my 24" primary LCD

I run a pair of XS900s and I'm very happy with them.

Tried that, it only recommended an 800VA on the affordable end.

Just get a second cheap one and split the peripherals attached to it. Put the comp on one UPS and use the second one for the rest. Get whatever you can afford which will probably be better than the current one, and put your case on that one. You can also try a Tripplite or Belkin which might be a bit cheaper.

I'm a fan of the XS/BS 1500's, you can get an additional battery pack to effectivly double the runtime.

I went for the RS 1300VA APC with the LCD readout. Its neat to see your run time and power draw!
