Default Web cam advise?

I am thinking about purchasing a Web cam to video conference with family as we have moved away. Any advise on what to look for would be greatly appreciated. I have never used a web cam before and don't know where to start! Thanks.

My System Specs

Hi Mecher, I'm no expert in webcam's but what I can say from my experiences with them is to buy a good brand like Logitech or Microsoft. Most cheap webcam's tell you about how many megapixel they have but don't tell you they use a cheap plastic lens. I have found Logitech has a good selection of webcams with good quality. You should be able to find something from them that suits your needs.

Thanks for the advise! I will have to look into the bandwidth required as I knocked back my ISP to a slower speed for the summer, Saved ten bucks a month and didn't really notice a difference surfing the web, but this is a different ball of wax...
