Smile OverClocking CPU Z Validation

Unless I missed it, we don't have an overclock validation thread. I must've gotten a golden chip...

With the new cooling setup I managed to get my old 3960 to 5.224 ghz @ 1.488 v.

CPU-Z Validator 4.0

liquid or air cooled?
but yes that is def lower voltage then I have seen most do for that speed though granted not highest speed seen which is range 5.2-5.5Ghz.

3k are known to clock higher then 4-5k chips and tend to be easier to cool, use more power idle but about same loaded go figure.

my lil PHII 955 can do right around 4.4Ghz HT 2125 cpu-nb 2.832 core volts 1.47 loaded with loadline set to extreme. with my CM Hyper 212+ but I do not run this way non-stop cant afford to replace it.
I can also do 3.6Ghz at 1.29v which is WAY below average needs

Smile Overclocking CPU Z Validation

Well I just finished running it @ 5 ghz using 1.405 v, so I got the voltages ALOT lower now. Still trying to get the same 5.224 or slightly better with the lower voltage, but it's taking a bit more time than I figured just to figure out what

it likes most, freq or move v.

I must've done something wrong as the validation for that one hasn't shown up yet...

That's the beauty of a chiller, I can get my 5960 to 4.9 @ 1.507 vcore with an idle of 23 if I remember correctly. Thermals on my 780 dircu under load is 12-15 C. Cpu usually runs as high as 36-40 C under load.

No rads and fans either. With 2 480s and over 400 cfm airflow per rad, the chiller is quieter as it only comes on occasionally. It cycles more often when I'm getting extreme of course.

Okay, ran it again : CPU-Z Validator 4.0 23 C for 5 ghz, not bad.
