Default Oveclocking Help 3770k

Hi I've overclocked my 3770k to 4.3ghz at about 1.28 voltage and the temperature stays at about 75-80 degrees.

But I still haven't gotten it stable, it runs nice and stable at max 80 degrees and then suddenly after 10 minutes the temperature rises to 90-100 degrees under the span of a few seconds and it BSOD me. Why is this happening?

I have a big ass Cooler master cooler, with I think 12 copper tubes in total, I dont know the name of it, but it was expensive. Should I be able to get better overclocking with that than I am getting now?

Try this OCCT 4.4.1 Available !

Lock your multiplyers and voltages in BIOS.

Run CPU test with the monitor window open. You will see a mem spike and Voltage spike soon as the program realy starts going. takes a minute or then it will ramp up. you shuold see your isues as soon as CPU hits 100% and Mem hits 90%.

Water shouldn't be required to get over 4.3. What specific cooler are you running? If you are running that hot (assuming you do have a decent cooler), then I would suspect a bad mount or a bad TIM application. Try taking the cooler off, and check how the TIM is spread. Reapply new stuff and ensure you have it properly mounted.

Also, unless you have a very poor overclocking 3770k, you should be able to run 4.3ghz at a much lower voltage. I think I was able to get my 3570k at 4.2ghz around 1.13v. So I would suspect somewhere around 1.15-1.18 should have got me stable at 4.3. Have you tried lowering voltage?

EDIT: Also, do you have decent airflow in the case? What case, cpu cooler, and case fan setup do you have?

i know the 3770k runs a little warm but i was able to get 4.5 on mine on air with max temps in the 62-67 area. prolly need to either upgrade the cooler and paste or its really just a shitty ocer. 1.28 is higher voltage then mine though .
