My System Specs

Default Stabilizing 3930k @ 5 Ghz

Hey guys, bit more playing around with OC's last night (after finishing Crysis3)... ;)

I'm just at or slightly below 1.4v with 4.9 Ghz, last night I played for about a half hr seeing how achievable 5 Ghz is. My voltage limit of 1.4v is easily surpassed for reaching 5 Ghz.

I was at an offset + .115v load voltage 1.418v and still wasn't stable, got thru only 3 cycles of LinX then BSOD, I'm pretty sure bumping up offset to + .125 or so with a load approaching 1.45v would stabilize 5 GHz, (perhaps increasing LL Calibration from Medium to Extreme as well), load temps were fine at only around 75c on one of the cores. But I'm not into running 24/7 with anything above 1.4v.
Not yet anyhow, 4.9 Ghz is fine, gains to 5 Ghz running say Cinebench were minimal.

As with my 980x, the longer I have the Chip the more likely Ill say Fvck it and run it at 1.42-1.45v ;)
It is fun though seeing just how high these Chips can get!!!

Nice OC. I agree on keeping it at 4.9 until you start to care a little bit less about the CPU...then I would push the voltage as long as temps are in check. What voltage is it taking at 4.9?

Being a RIVE owner,I'm registered at ROG. There's a guy in there that claims the 4930K at 4.5ghz. is the same as running the 3930K at 5ghz. Have you read that post rj? What do you think? Is the guy smoking something he ain't sharing with the rest of us? Thanks.

Sorry Double Post (Iphone).....

Slikk you see further down I'm that thread Raja clarified....realistic 2-7% gains, but based on 3DMark benching, for CPUId stick to Cinebench Aida for
CPU testing.

Do you have Cinebench loaded on your Rig? Simple program and test
takes not even a minute to run, strictly test CPU.

At 4.9 Ghz I score 14.11 PTs, 5 Ghz 14.58 PTs.
I would guess your 4930 would like be around 13.8 PTs or so, which is damn good!!!

You had better be entering that 5 GHz monster in this month's XTU contest!
