I've also found that XTU needs a basically untouched OS. My slimmed Win7 that I usually use for benching was a no-go.

My system when OCed is not BSODing but just turning right off as of late when clocked down runs great though :S hmmm

What specs? Not what's in your "My System Specs" right?

I'm going to try another drive with a newer cleaner install on it. I was trying to push this last night and I couldn't even get a run at 5GHz like I did before. Will see what I can do with that other drive.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, but I did actually try all of those, using the Z87X-OC I first tried with F5b bios, then moved X02 and still same problem. Tried a stripped 32 bit Win 7, a full install of Win 7 x64 and full install of Win 8 x64. Haven't got around to ripping on it again but I'll try a totally different SSD, and a mechanical one to see if that is the issue.

Symptoms kinda sound like the PSU may be on the fritz. Can you rule it out by subbing in a known-working unit?

Looks like my EVGA X79 config sucks just a little bit less than your MSI config, John - sorry! I did get it as high as 4.4 GHz with an older, more efficient BIOS version, but I stopped taking screenshots once I went into troubleshooting mode. I'll be borrowing a GA-X79-UD3 soon, which will hopefully help me figure out what's wrong.

Dead Things`s XTU score: 1282 marks with a Core i7 3930K
