Just went quad, didn't think my score would improve by as much as it did, with one GX2 it was 11336, with adding the second one....ORB - Compare not too shabby, the big difference is in the gaming, Crysis plays sweeeeet!

How on Earth did you manage to hit that high? I can't believe that a 3870X2 will almost double the Points over a 4870....

That's 2 of 'em. Hence the CrossfireX...Singlecard is Crossfire, at least to my addled brain! ;)


Single card I get a wee bit over 9.5k...8.8k GPU score. Clocking VGAs to 950 makes for a huge jump in score...without vga clocking I get a tad under 16k total score.

Thank you. Makes more sense... didn't see the X. So a single 3870X2 barely edges the 4870.

Barely, and in most apps the 4870 will be faster, due to the nature of the 3870x2. Remember that mine is "highly" overclocked too...

My rig is screaming for a couple Black Edition Radeon HD4870x2's...

Very nice scores!....Can I ask what settings your using to hit 4.170GHz? I haven't really pushed my QX or the GX2's but I would like to give it a shot, I'm one of those who's just not very comfortable bumping the voltages, I've run at 4.1 but couldn't seem to get it 100% stable. I haven't oc'd the GX2's much yet either but I plan on it
