Help a Newbie

Ok folks. I need some help getting my system to a decent oc. I believe the system specs might not be right atm.

Running Win7 Ult. 64 bit in Superspeed/Supercache on a pr of OCZ V3s

Got a 3960x on a Sabretooth board with 16gbs of Mushkin 2133Mhz Quad channel using a NZXT Kraken X60.

Also using a AX1200 and I'm going to try 3 titan sli so we can post a decent score in the contest which I don't know where exactly to enter or when...

Anyway, I got 4.38 but it runs better at 3.06. It's the voltage adjustments and any other small tweak that I haven't done b4.

Is there an OCing for Dummies book for sale in the Store?

So I have room for the cpu and gpu tweak.

Great, thanks!

There is no book.. or bible.. or anything really.

There are basic do and don'ts and the rest is really up to what the hardware wants to give you.

Overclocking like popping a virgin all over again.. She may or may not give it to you but if she does you'll be very happy.

You just made my day...:haha: Like a virgin...

On topic,

google is you best friend: search many different web site, average all the information, reject extreme, then (this process might have already leaded you here, which it did for me) see what kind of realworld overclocking your setup (hardware/cooling solution) SHOULD net you.

Have fun! I personally almost as much liked the learning of the process as the actual overclocking.

For OC'ing Asus Sabertooth beat to go to
Asus Republic of Gamers Forum, lots of step by step info there.

Yeah I got some good info from there!

Right now my setup needs a bigger psu which should be here this week. There's some funky stuff going on with this board so it may have to go back now.

Wanted to hold off and run these cards but it's not giving me a break. It'll only run performance. My thinkning is the psu is a little too close to call power wise.

1100 w was what I found was the general concensus for the gpus. Throw in the processor, fans and any ocing
I believe cuts it a little too close.

My 1st run of Vantage was lousy. It would just freeze up during the extreme setting.

I'm going to run 2 for now and c what happens.
