My System Specs

Default Scratching my head here... OCing i5-750 again...

So I replaced my P7P55D-LX that was giving me trouble with a EVGA P55 FTW(Thanks 10e). No more USB issues, boots properly everytime, all is well when running stock.

I had a stable OC of 3.4 on there(Speedstep/turbo/c-state disabled), I had even pushed it to 4.0 at some point but did not like the temps so I scaled it down. It had been running like that for 1+ year.

Now I cant load windows with anything other than default setup(fresh CMOS wipe, default RAM and CPU). I get BSOD about 5 seconds in everytime. I used the same values I had on my previous mobo, raised the voltage a little, re-entered RAM data, etc...

Tonight I will be re-seating the CPU/ram/power connectors, just in case...

Something special I need to know about those P55 FTW? I have been going over OC guides and I cant see waht I could have done wrong.

Problem fixed...

Reset CMOS, load optimized default, set RAM manually, do not use XMP Profile, set BLCK 170:20 and off I was to 3.4 again, been running Prime95 for 30 minutes and no hicups. Not a "real" test per say but unless I run into issues I will just leave it at that and enjoy it.

Just an update again, trying to pass time browsing while Prime95 is running...

Now at 3.6, been Prime95ing for over an hour, temps at 63-65c on all cores with a Zalmann CNPS10X Performa with Zalmann thermal paste I had left-over.

Quite happy with this upgrade, it will make my old rig last an extra 1-2 years hopefully before I upgrade again. I cant see myself being CPU limited anytime soon now.

Now if I could put my hands on another GTX560 it would be awesome.
