Default Overclocking the A10-5800k to 5Ghz any one have luck with this?

So I want to hit the favored 5Ghz 24/7 heat is no issue got them up to 4.75ghz on 1.60Volts core but I wanna hit 5Ghz as this is replacing my 4.2Ghz 980X as our family computer.

Currently I have seen zero impact in games which amazes me. Even last night did a few tests with multiple games and no game play issues. I am using a 660 2gb OCed card and the onboard is shut off so that helps.

But anyone know the sweet spot settings for these APU's as they seem buggy to OC to say the least

I suspect you'll need a good amount of vcore to get to 5Ghz, and you'll be cooling limited before that.

Somewhere around 1.5-1.6v I'd guess

This is with Single Stage phase:

Edit: Should have read more carefully What are you using for cooling? 1.6v is probably pumping out a lot of heat I'd imagine...

In my limited experience with FM2 I can tell you that temp monitoring programs are rarely accurate.

Your porn is hotter than you think

I was thinking about getting into some more exotic cooling and kind of dry running with FM2 boards since they are fairly inexpensive overall to setup. I would be interested in seeing what you get on your cooling setup, and what is your cooling setup.

I'm using an external heat monitoring source :) but the thing just hates running stable at high clocks.

Also got a 240 Seidon on it and it is cooling well :)

Valk he is running it as a dual core that could be why his scores bombed

That cooler is doing a heck of a job to hold <40 degrees loaded at that voltage.

Fyi: Super pi is not a multi-threaded bench... running it on less cores is faster

The quickest time on hwbot is still over 13 minutes

I keep my A10 at about 4.5 Ghz. I'm just using a Coolermaster 212+ with an extra fan. I find that when I push it to 4.6 or 4.7 in the multiplier it crashes on me. I have the CPU Voltage set to 1.475 Apart from bragging rights about the Ghz is there much of an advantage to 5 over 4.5? In theory everything should be 10% faster, but I have a feeling that is just a theory. I've spent too much time tweaking and trying to hit a "sweet spot" - right now I'm going for the sure and stable setting that I can rely on.

Be curious to see how this works out for you though?
