My System Specs

Default why is my 4Ghz OC showing 1600mhz ?
I used the auto oc on my asrock z77 motherboard yesterday and when I booted into my system the 4Ghz showed . today I just booted into my system and it is showing 1600mhz , I am fairly new to OC on intels but is that some type of throttling or something? how do I turn that off

its intels speedstepping sstuff...

Basicallyt, it undervolts your cpu, and decreases the frequency to save power, but wel you stress test it or have a cpu load, it bumps it up to your prescribed voltage and clock frequency.

Try p95 and see if it stays at 1600mhz :)

Edit: I think if you diabsle intel speed stepping and c1e-c6 it should turn it off.

Do not disable it When you need to it'll overclock again. It's working as designed.
