| Hello Ladies and Gents, New here to HardWare Canucks so 1st off I'd like to say Hello and that I look forward to lending anythin I can to this fine CANADIAN comunity ![]() THe purpose of this lil Thread -I appologize if this is posted elsewhere I didnt see another such thread in recent history- is for everyone to see some of the possibilities which may lay dormant in there machines. I have seen so many threads in regards to "how to OC this or that" or "why cant cant my comp go faster than X GHz" etc. Here we can strut our impossible accomplishments and offer some info to other aspiring ClockRockers. I'm sure that combined all of us crazy overclockers -and the reserved ones too - can guide just thru proof of example if nothing else how unleashed hardware can get. We might even be able to afford the time to elaborate on certain steps and combinations that others here havent thought of -as well as mention the appropriate cautions lol- In this very thread could potentially lie many answers to many questions all in one thread! Please submit anythin and everythin ya can think of! Timings, CPU clocks, RAM clocks, Volts, Slot clocks, temps, GPU OCs and BIOS Mods....anythin that gets that vista rig to score 5.9 across the board -I have a 5.9 in everythin except gaming @5.8 lol....I know, what do i want out of a single 8600GTS?- and for those of us that love XP -I Tri boot- how many passes of that damn XP loading window can you get it down to? -2.5 passes here- My specs are listed below but are a lil breif cuz of the 1000 char sig limitation so if theres any eloboration needed please ask.... Someone has to get this ball rolling and I'm only too happy to spread the wealth of a bitchass fast -OC'd not stolen -computer at bargain basement prices.... or simply called "The instant hundred dollar upgrade" around my place ![]()

| I dont think I need any help boostin my Monster any more....its about as pushed as it can get I think but thanks :) I'm askin for ppl to show off there prize overclocks! Some ppl are better at clockin RAM and CPU while others may be better at clockin the MCP <-> SPP or the GPU. I'm lookin for a vast repository of overclocking options and configurations. I myself am a Jack-of-all-Trades clocker I try to clock EVERYTHING but I'm sure theres things I havent thought of or combos I overlooked. Here....now....potentially anyway....we have a shot of assembling all of our best efforts and ideas and maybe help some folks along the way.... if nothin else its a place for us to show off our hours of effort and maybe even gain some braggin rights ![]() Just was thinkin it'd be nice to have all of this communities best in one thread potentially advancing the others and opening eyes and minds to different possibilities which some may have thought werent possible without spending hundreds of $$$$ -ie new boards chips etc- Spectre -PS Also consider the presence of Malware -rootkits etc- in considering why yer comp may or may not be a boat anchor -I can help in that regard too if it is needed....I'm quite the hunter-

| If I had to classify myself, I'd say I've got more experience OC'ing CPUs than mem, but I pride myself on running The tightest mem timings I can get out of the speed they're running. :)

| I run my Q6600 @ 3.6G and 1.26v but Ive benched it over 4.6Ghz. I run my E3110 @ 4G and 1.31v but have benched it over 5G. The little I have time to bench I post in my benching thread here. :)

I know I lost a memory bank AND a stick of memory. 5th that score Vista gives you is a utter joke and has absolutely no relevance to ANYTHING!

| Its a monster for what it IS thanks alot and I posted the vista numbers so that its somethin EVERYONE knows how to weild not all of us are born knowin Orthos or Prime '95 there guy. I also have no idea what yer talkin about in reference to the 680i.... cram a cooler on the North Bridge.... weakness solved. Mem cant be clocked any higher either thanks I tried that. I combine ECC and NON ECC memory at dual channel which is likely a factor. Not too mention that 4-4-4-10 CR1 will DESTROY anythin under 850 @5-5-5-15 or worse... TIP: Higher clocks are SLOWER than tighter timmings. And my VOLTS are 1.45 1.42 in windows in account of the droop. And I'd be better with an EXTREME Quad Core but I dont happen to have 1300 bux layin around....I left it in my other pants. Dont make me laugh... that p35 isnt any better of a board than the 680...which in my view is better than the 780i due to recent stability issues. If ya wanna talk smokin chipsets mention a 790 Ultra -Despite its DDR3 limitation and shitty CLs 8-8-8?- or an X48...hell even an X38..... P35 is reaching dude. I think I covered all yer issues \ questions..... what else ya got? QUOTE BELOW While you may think thats a monster its. First off to run that processor at that speed your crankin some serious voltage through it probably anywhere from 1.5v and up. 2nd your memory isn't overclocked and could probably be pushed much further. 3rd you'd probably be better off getting a e8400 and overclocking it as you'll get better benches. 4th upgrade to a p35 board and you'll get better overclocks as when you start pushing limits on a 680i your asking for disaster... I know I lost a memory bank AND a stick of memory. 5th that score Vista gives you is a utter joke and has absolutely no relevance to ANYTHING![/quote]

| I believe you have the wrong Forum for such a thread. We take pride in all our oc'ing trials, but to the point of posting for bragging rights, no, thank you - I'll pass. But as you may already have seen, we are many members willing to help any newcomer (heck, even long-standing members) reach their own oc goal. And you don't need to have broken any records for that. I have many OCs under my belt: E2140 @ 3.2, E2160 @ 3.4, E6300 @ 3.4, E6400 @ 3.6, Q6600 @ 4.0 (twice), E8400 @ 4.7, etc. all under water, with way too much Volts but stable while Folding. Would my numbers (volts, timings, FSB) help someone else reach those same speeds? No - we don't have the same hardware and cooling power. But can I help someone else troubleshoot their settings with my knowledge? I think so. It has happened. Heck, I've asked for help and managed to reach new speeds personnally with the help of others.
